UNIVERSITY HIGH SCHOOL
Irvine, CA
Full-Day Camp with Half-Day Options
Join the Wilson Collegiate Tennis Camp and University of Southern California’s Coach Marc Lucero for an incredible week of tennis! We are excited to introduce this brand new location in Irvine, CA!
This year we have the team at USC teaching at another location in Irvine, CA at University High School.
Each camper still receives personal attention, advanced teaching techniques, intensive drill work and game / match play, all in a fun and competitive environment. We break the campers into small instructional groups of similar age and ability so each child is working in a group that is commensurate with their experience level. We tailor each program to the level of the players. Beginners will get a heavier dose of swing technique and fundamentals, while more advanced players will focus on strategy, point building and percentage tennis etc.
Wilson Collegiate Tennis Camps are the premier camps for young players who strive to learn the game, improve their skills and/or participate in middle school, high school, USTA team tennis or tournaments.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CAMP INCLUDE:
- 5.5-6 hours of tennis each day
- Small instructional groups to ensure individual attention
- Camp demo program with all the latest Wilson rackets
- Great Wilson Raffle and prizes for all campers
- Camp T-Shirt for all campers
- Safety prioritized on and off court

MEET YOUR COACHES
Camp Director:
Marc Lucero
Associate Head Men’s Tennis Coach
University of Southern California
Lucero had served as a coach on the professional circuit since 2013. During that span, he worked with five different players: Amanda Anisimova (2023-204), USC legend Steve Johnson (2019-2023), former No. 48th-ranked player Shelby Rogers (2014-19), Genie Bouchard (2013) and Alison Riske (2014). Recently, Lucero joined the coaching circle of Anisimova as he helped her return to the professional landscape after she took a sabbatical for most of 2023. During that span, Lucero helped her return to the scene as she made the 4th round of the Australian Open in just her second event back.
During Lucero’s time with USC legend Steve Johnson, he helped him win the Bendigo Challenger and the Indian Wells 125k Challenger in 2020. Johnson also reached the 3rd round of Wimbledon in 2022 under Lucero’s coaching.
Before working in the professional landscape, Lucero was a United States Tennis Association Player Development coach from 2010 to 2012. During that period, he traveled around the country and developed the next wave of women’s tennis talent in the United States. Lucero worked with players such as Emma Higuchi and Nicole Gibbs. Higuchi won two National Championships in 2012 and ranked No. 1 in the USA. Gibbs won two NCAA National Championships and ranked within the WTA Top 200 during her collegiate career.
Lucero started his coaching career as an assistant tennis coach for the women’s tennis program at Princeton University from the fall of 2004 through June 2007. There, he helped recruit the No. 3 and No. 2 ranked recruiting class in the nation.
Lucero graduated from Boston College with a degree in Economics in 2002. He captained the men’s varsity team at BC and led the Eagles in career wins.
CAMP REVIEWS
The staff, the program, the option to pick half day or full day, and the kids in the program – everything is ran smoothly and my daughter LOVED being able to hit with Coach Alison, who is INCREDIBLY KIND AND AWESOME!
I like the program and the cost. The cost is way better compare to other camps even for a full day. My child had fun and it was competitive.
Very organized and positive coaches.
My boys had the best time and learned so much. The coaches and the staff were phenomenal and they made new friends from all different age groups and from different parts of the country. We will definitely be back next summer.
My daughter said it was not only instructive, but it was also fun! And she met other kids whom she enjoyed playing with.
My son had only played tennis once and he loved it. I think that says a lot about the type of camp it is in it’s ability to cater a good environment to all.
