Day Camp
The USC Elite Training Camp is a one-of-a-kind camp series hosted at the University of Southern California (USC). Each camp is specific with its focus, specializing in a few areas of the game that are essential to player development but often not offered to young players around the country.
This Fall and Winter we will be offering two unique day camps at USC. The first option will expose young players to concepts about the the College Match Day experience and the second camp will focus on the First 4 shots.
Camp Program:
 College Game Day Camp: Sunday November 19, 2023
Game Day!!! This camp will focus on the collegiate tennis game day experience. Part showcase camp, part college prep, will feature high-intensity training in the morning, pre-match strategy and scouting seminar during the lunch break, and a full college game day showcase match, featuring singles and doubles in the afternoon.
 The First 4 Shots Camp: Saturday, December 9, 2023
The first four shots camp aims to emphasize the serve, return of serve, server’s 1st shot, and returners’ first shot ( the first 4 strokes of a point). Between 62-67% of all points end in the first four shots and this is an often overlooked aspect of the game. Emphasis will be placed on serve locations, return percentages, Serve +1, and return +1. We will proceed to the entire point building following the first four shots. The afternoon will feature point-and-match play with an emphasis on these concepts.

Inclement Weather:
- Unfortunately, we do not have indoor courts on campus, and in inclement weather, we will have to adjust accordingly.
Ratio:
- This camp features a 5:1 ratio
Groupings:
- A skills evaluation is done on the first day of camp, and we will assign students to small instructional groups with kids of similar age, ability, and experience levels. Players will continue to be evaluated throughout the week, and coaches will move kids into situations to push them and help ensure they are in a comfortable learning environment.
Safety:
- Â Camp safety is our number one priority. All efforts are made to ensure that the kids are safe througouth the camp. Safety will be priortized over tennis and activities when necessary. The camp, Wilson Sporting Goods, Premier Sports camps and its coaches and universities are not responsible for personal itmes brought to camp.

Q: Are there Skill Requirements for this camp?
Per NCAA rules, our sports camps are open to all entrants. Enrollment is limited only by age, grade level, gender, and capacity restrictions as specified by each camp.
Q: What type of campers attend this camp?
Our camps are open to all levels of tennis players. We have players from absolute beginner to high school / Tournament level.
We design our camps to teach the technical basics and love of the game to the beginning player, to introduce strategical decision making, and more advanced technique to the intermediate player, while building on their current stroke production, and to put the advanced players into pressured, strategical and competitive situations.
Q. What is the ratio of campers to staff?
Groups will be divided into small instructional groups of approximately 5-6: 1 camper to coach. Some camps/sessions offer higher or lower ratios based on the curriculum.

Q. Should I purchase camp/cancellation insurance?
We recommend all families purchase camp/cancellation insurance if they are concerned about the investment they are making in the camp. Kids do get injured, sick and family plans change from the time of registration leading up to the camp. Camp insurance allows peace of mind and has many benefits in any of these events. HEAD WOMEN’S TENNIS COACH
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Alison Swain, who built a women’s tennis dynasty at Williams College by leading the Ephs to 8 NCAA Division III team championships, including in 2017, was named the women’s head coach at USC, Trojan athletic director Lynn Swann announced today (June 7).
Swain, posted an .889 winning percentage (224-28) in her 10 seasons (2008-17) at Williams, including 48-2 in NCAA tournament play. She led the Ephs to 8 NCAA team championships, including in each of her first 6 seasons (an NCAA Division III record and tying Stanford for most consecutive at any level) as well as in 2015 (going 25-0) and the just-concluded 2017 campaign. In her other 2 seasons, Williams was the NCAA runnerup in 2016 and was third in 2014. She also helped Williams win 5 conference championships.
She was named the 2013 ITA National Division III Coach of the Year, was a 5-time conference Coach of the Year and twice (2010-13) was the ITA Northeast Coach of the Year. Swain is a native of Bainbridge, Wash. She is a member of the board of directors of the ITA through June of 2018.

DAVID X. MARKS TENNIS STADIUM
The USC men’s and women’s tennis teams have called the David X. Marks Tennis Stadium home since its construction in 1971. This season, Trojan tennis sees its home revamped and renovated, bringing the venue up to date and in line with the impressive accomplishments of both programs. USC broke ground on the new Buntmann Family Tennis Center on Feb. 24, 2015, starting an impressive renovation project with the goal of elevating Marks Tennis Stadium to be on par with the best facilities in the country by creating an inviting, elegant, bright and safe training and competition environment.
The Buntmann Family Tennis Center entrance and lobby now welcomes fans and visitors and puts on display the rich history of USC tennis. To improve the building functionality and support the tennis program operations, the new Lisa and Douglas Goldman Family StudentAthlete Learning Studio supports direct collaboration between coaches, staff and athletes on a daily basis.
The teams are now able to utilize and enjoy brand-new suites with lockers, showers, team meeting rooms and lounges. Both teams also have access to a new training room, a stringing storage area and a large multi-purpose room. To better accommodate and enhance the spectator experience, new spectator shade canopies has been added, a new elevator to the seating area has been installed.
