Join the Wilson Collegiate Tennis Camp at the Xavier University for an incredible week of tennis! Under the guidance of long time college coach and camp director, Frank Polito, campers will learn the latest tennis techniques, tactics and strategies through on-court instruction, competitive drills and singles and doubles match play.
The Xavier camp will be based on the curriculum, experience and techniques of the College of Wooster Camp. The Wooster camp has been voted “Top Sports Camp” in Ohio by Sports Illustrated magazine and is the largest, most popular tennis camp in the midwest. The Xavier camp will be our southern Ohio sister camp of the Wooster camp, utilizing the same schedule, techniques and format that has made Wooster so popular.
Each camper will receive instruction on the fundamentals of all major strokes which will enhance their skills through repetition, hand fed drills and live-ball situations. In addition, players will be exposed to various formats of match play in singles and doubles, and learn the value of team competition.
These camps are excellent preparation for anyone interested in participating in middle school, high school, USTA team tennis, or preparing to compete in USTA leagues and/or tournaments.
The Wilson Collegiate Tennis Camps is where learning is organized, fun is emphasized and safety is prioritized.

TRADITIONAL CAMPS: Our traditional tennis camps (non match-play or college prep) are designed to focus on the fundamentals and swing techniques of the modern tennis strokes. Some of the areas of focus for each level include:
• Beginners: The beginning level player will be introduced to the basics of the game. Emphasis will be placed on stroke production and the technical aspects of the swing in an effort to teach these young players sound fundamentals from the ground up.
• Intermediate: Intermediate level players will also focus on fundamental stroke production (to ensure proper technique), but will also be in put into game play situations to introduce these players to the competitive side of the game.
• Advanced: The more advanced players will work with stroke production in a competitive environment, but will also be introduced to the basic strategies of the game.
• High School / Tournament: Varsity high school and tournament players will focus on the strategic and competitive aspects of the game. Although there will be attention spent on the stroke fundamentals, more emphasis will be placed on point progression, court positioning, patterns and sequences, percentage plays and live ball drill work.
