Vanderbilt University head women's tennis coach, Geoff Macdonald is entering his 18th year as the head coach at the school, becoming the universities all time winningest coach along the way. The two time SEC Coach of the Year, coach Macdonald has guided the Commodores to Top 16 finishes in the NCAA/ITA National Division I rankings for 14 straight seasons, headlined by a #2 finish in 2004. The team has ranked in the top 3 of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) nine of the past 11 years and has finished inside the nations Top 10 five separate times.
Coach Macdonald took over the head coaching duties at Vanderbilt in 1994 and quickly became recognized for his leadership, communication skills and deep tennis knowledge.
In addition to his on court coaching duties, Coach Macdonald is a writer for the New York Times, covering tennis and the US Open for the paper and online editions.
